Jason Allen is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in the School of Materials Science and Engineering. He received a
B.S. degree in physics from Southern Polytechnic State University in 2002 and a B.S. degree in materials
science and engineering from Georgia Tech in 2013.
Until 2014, Jason spent 11 years working for the State of Georgia as a safety engineer reviewing construction
projects related to chemical plants, pipeline terminals, propane plants, and liquefied natural gas plants.
Currently, Jason is working under the advisory of Dr. Hamid Garmestani and is investigating the linkages between
the microstructure of cast polycrystalline silicon and its manufacturing parameters using
data science methods learned through FLAMEL.
